Expansion Tanks

Picture11.jpg

Applications

Pressure stabilization in water-based mechanical systems such as booster installations, boiler systems, and chiller plants

Description

Compared to conventional designs, Armstrong Expansion Tanks can reduce tank sizes by up to 80%. By absorbing and releasing the fluctuating volume of water as it heats and cools, expansion tanks use compressed air to maintain system pressures. The expanded water is separated from the factory-pre-charged pressure-regulating air cushion by diaphragm or bladder tank designs, which can be modified on-site to satisfy system specifications.

Materials

Carbon steel (shell), heavy-duty Butyl (diaphragm)

Performance range

AET plain steel expansion tanks: 15 to 525 USgpm flowAX diaphragm expansion tanks: 8 to 211 USgpm flowType L bladder type expansion tanks: 10 to 1056 USgpm flow
